My new green hummingbird print classic robe has a standard fit with an attached belt.
I was spending the weekend at a friend’s ranch in the California Central Valley when I first laid eyes on the inspiration for my wrap style robe. Its shape and elegance struck me. For the last year, I have been reworking the original design and am thrilled to introduce this new style to my line.
My host has wonderful taste. She strikes a perfect balance between elegant and casual; never formal. Always stylish in a way that seems easy. At breakfast and before bed she wore a plain white linen robe that was interestingly tied on the side! I loved the simple look of the robe and its clean lines. I could not get the design out of my head.
A few weeks later I asked her about the robe. She told me, a bit embarrassed, that she had bought it in Mexico City at a vintage shop! I immediately knew there was something about the robe that spoke to me; it was a truly classic design.
She loaned me the robe and I went to work updating it for 2021. As simple as the robe appeared, when I got it home there were many pleats and placketts that I needed to change to make the style my own. I wanted to pair down the design revealing the robe’s simplicity. I am excited with the outcome. From the side tie to the scalloped collar, all combined with my chinoiserie hummingbird print make it a modern classic.
Robes can be machine washed, tumble dried and ironed. They have been washed multiple times in the printing process so they will not shrink.
